Online Application Guidelines​

ADMISSION INTO FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES 2021/2022 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into various Postgraduate programmes of the University.

The Postgraduate Programmes are available in Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master of Tech. Education (M.Tech. Ed), Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), Master of Technology (M.Tech.), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Health Management (MHM), Master of Accounting and Finance (MAFS), Master of Facility Management (MFM) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) levels.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • All candidates must meet the matriculation requirements including a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level. i.e, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB.
  • Graduates of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University or other recognized Universities with at least Third Class Honours Degree.
  • HND holders with a minimum of Lower credit from recognised institutions.
  • Holders of any other qualifications together with relevant field experience as deemed acceptable to the University.

  • All candidates must meet the matriculation requirements including a credit in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level.i.e, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB.
  • Graduates of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University who have obtained the approved first degree with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division).
  • Candidates with approved University Honours Degree (CGPA of 3.00 and above on a scale of 5.00 point) or CGPA of 2.40 – 2.99 inclusive plus three years post graduation.
  • Candidates with third class honours degree plus five years post graduation.
  • Appropriate Postgraduate Diploma of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University or other recognized Universities with at least a pass at credit level.
  • Candidates whose degrees are unclassified with an average of C or above
  • Candidates who possess Higher National Diploma with at least a credit pass from recognized institutions and at least a pass at credit level of Postgraduate Diploma of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in the relevant areas.
  • Candidates may be required to sit for a qualifying examination either before approval of registration or at an appropriate stage of their course work or research.

  • All candidates must meet the matriculation requirements including a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level. i.e, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB.
  • Graduates of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University who hold Masters Degree appropriate for the proposed areas of study
  • Graduates of other recognised Universities who hold Masters Degrees with a CGPA of at least 3.50 on a scale of 5.00
  • Candidates for the PhD programmes may be required to pass a qualifying examination and/or undergo a probationary period not exceeding 12 calendar months.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Application forms are to be completed online through www.atbu.edu.ng/pg (as from ……….to………. 2021). Applicants are expected to submit their application forms online together with scanned copies of their credentials.

i). Ensure that only valid email address and phone number should be used as further correspondence will be through this cannels.

ii) Ensure that the online form is carefully and correctly completed.

STEP 1
ACCOUNT ACTIVATION

1. Click on New Application
2. Enter your name, and a valid phone number (ensure that it is your phone number for it will be used in subsequent communication with you)
3. You will be redirected to the login page

STEP 2
LOGIN

1. Use your phone number (The one you entered earlier) as your Username as well as password
2. A successful login will take you to the welcome page

STEP 3
FEES PAYMENT

Confirm your information on the page and proceed to select a payment method. After a successful payment, you would proceed to fill your application form. You are required to enter your personal information including your names and other relevant information. A valid phone number is required which is going to be the primary communication medium in regards to your application.

STEP 4
CHOICE OF PROGRAMME

You are required to select the choice of your programme of study from the list of available Courses.

STEP 5
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

i) It is mandatory for Applicants to make arrangement with their previous institutions to forward a hard copy of their Transcript to the Head of Departments, of their proposed programmes. No candidate will be considered for admission without a valid transcript.

ii) PhD Applicants must upload a Pre-proposal or Synopsis and ensure a hard copy is sent by post to the Head of Department of your proposed programme.

Applicants without NYSC discharge or exemption certificate need NOT to apply

STEP 6
UPLOADING PASSPORT

You are required to upload your recent passport photograph that is very clear and with a plain background. The picture should be a JPEG format and not more than 150kb in size.

STEP 7
APPLICATION SUBMISSION

After filling all the necessary information, you should submit the application by clicking on the ‘Submit application’ button. Before final submission of the application, cross-check to ensure all the information are correct. This is because the information cannot be updated after submission.

STEP 8
PRINTING OF APPLICATION

After the successful submission of the application, your application page is displayed. Click on Print Application to print it.
